LIFT Longford Inclusive Fitness Trails Programme

The L.I.F.T. Longford Inclusive Fitness Trails is part of the Longford Sports Partnership Disability Inclusion Programme originally developed by previous Longford SIDO Orla Dempsey and further assisted by Clodagh Burns. Irish Sign Language (ISL) instructional videos for each outdoor exercise machine have been developed for 3 parks in Longford.

The following 3 parks are included in the Longford Inclusive Fitness Trails.

• Albert Reynolds Peace Park (The Mall) 
• Leebeen Park, Aughnacliffe
• The Green, Edgeworthstown

Each outdoor gym machine has its own unique QR Code sticker on it which links the user to a video of the exercise demonstration in Irish Sign Language / spoken language/ subtitles (closed captions) etc . To access the video, open the camera app on your smart phone and hover it over the QR code sticker on the machine which will then provide a youtube link to access.

This outdoor gym programme is supported by CHIME (The National Charity of Deafness and Hearing Loss), Longford County Council, Sport Ireland, Active Disability Ireland, HSE, Healthy Ireland, and Equipment Supplier Outfit.ie
